When I was a kid, I wanted to be Coco Chanel. I am not entirely sure where my love affair with Parisian Haute Couture started, but it has always involved a deep love for the pioneering style of Chanel.
She was an incredibly wise woman on top of being a talented designer and a woman ahead of her time. (Side note, the movie Coco Before Chanel is pretty dang great). Most often, she is quoted for her stance on fashion (Fashion fades, style remains) and what she thought of women (A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous). And while she is right, she also had a lot more knowledge and wisdom.
So, go, be someone.
Today is a reminder that we have a choice in who we become. We are not made to define ourselves by things and accomplishments. It is our person, heart and soul that make us people and we need to focus on that first.
